Parenting Coordinators are becoming increasingly appointed and relied upon by the Courts. This is a quasi-legal position and requires particular expertise in dealing with high-conflict families.
This course covers the appointment of the Parenting Coordinator, the powers and limitations of the Parenting Coordinator and the process of Parenting Coordination. Drafting and issuing directives is discussed and examples of Parenting Coordination Reports are provided. Furthermore, psychological aspects and considerations relevant to this role are covered. Various contact schedules are explored and the possibility of child participation in the process is discussed. The resignation of the Parenting Coordinator is covered as well as relevant ethical considerations.
This course is accredited by NABFAM and by the HPCSA (12 General CEU’s and 8 Ethics CEU’s).
